Music that speaks melody, portrays different moods of
love, has a touch of Hindustani Classical, cooked in an oven of World
Music, paints the picture of the love of Radha and Krishna, of ancient
India, and of the Ragas sung in the durbars of Kings in the Mughal Days,
is all what the music of "The Sargoshee Project" is all about.
The music of "The Sargoshee Project"
will take you on a rapid journey through to the banks of Kashi, to the
deserts of Sindh, to Meera Bai's village Kudki in Rajasthan, only to be
limited by your imagination.

been relishing the joy of blending the string with the skin, the
Sitar with the Tabla since a long time now. "Our jam sessions used to continue for hours altogether, and make us even forget our meals. There was somewhere a magic, which we could feel was surfacing around us with the resonance of the Raagas exuding away from our instruments", recalls Soumitra.
Now, the recordings sessions of "The AfterDark Symphony", "Fusion Romance" & "Soona Yeh Angna", in all of which Soumitra spelt the magic of the Sitar, has a string attached to it. At the time of the recordings, Soumitra & Shubhodeep were in two different cities altogether. So scheduling the recording sessions was a daunting task. Soumitra used to carry his Sitar, and Shubhodeep his tabla alongwith professional portable recorders from his studio, travel by train and meet at a central place where the recordings were eventually held. The fire had already been lit within them, and no difficulty would have been able to put their spirits down.
"It was fun making music in this way, combating all these constraints, and finally come up with the mixes. Truly a street recording experience ! When you don't have a way behind, it's only the way forward", cites Soumitra & Shubhodeep.
